Thinking about a career in tech? Salesforce just might be the one for you.

Salesforce is the world’s #1 customer relationship management (CRM) software that breaks down the technology silos between departments — including marketing, sales, commerce, service, and information technology (IT) — to give companies a complete view of their customer everywhere they interact with their brand. Because it’s cloud-based, departments can share a single customer view from any device anywhere in the world.

Ok, now we’re done with that, let’s dive into why you are really here. Why should you start a career in Salesforce? Let’s start with 5 reasons:

1. Endless Job Opportunities

Over 150,000 companies across the globe, from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies, use Salesforce to deliver exceptional customer experiences and scale up their businesses. What we then find is that there is a high demand for Salesforce-certified specialists but not many skilled professionals to meet the demand — basically, demand is increasing faster than today’s workforce can upskill to meet it. What a conundrumy conundrum. Take a look at this chart below:

It is estimated that for every certified Salesforce developer, there are four roles waiting to be filled and that by 2024, there would be about 9.3m jobs created in the Salesforce ecosystem. Are you thinking what we’re thinking?

2. Make that shMoney:

Salesforce customers and partners are in constant competition for the best talent (who no like better thing?) therefore, the demand and supply struggle is driving up wages.

Salesforce salaries are so impressive, the most basic salesforce job (Salesforce Administrator) at entry level nets more than $30,000 a year (and that’s us being decent. Some say it’s around $60,000). Other roles like Salesforce developer ones are earning about $100,000 a year (compare that to the average salary for a software developer in the US which is about $85,000). *Asphyxiates*.

3. The Potential to Work from Anywhere:

Salesforce lives in the cloud, which means that everything about the software usage and management is online — all you need is decent internet and a computer (A certain data service provider has left the chat 🌚).

A caveat here, though: your employer’s company culture will determine whether or not you can work remotely. But it’s not all bad news. To throw some stats at you, roughly 30% of starting roles offer remote work options and 70% of senior Salesforce roles are fully remote. So, assuming your employer shakes their head at remote work, the higher you climb on the Salesforce ladder, the more clout you have, ergo, the more shots you call — talk about baller moves. Today is a good day to hop on that ladder.

4. Multiple Career Options:

Salesforce is super accessible. With many career paths within the Salesforce ecosystem — Administration, Development, Consulting, Marketing, Sales, Business Analysis, Project Management, etc — there is something to choose from. Salesforce allows you to showcase your skills through a series of certifications — the more certifications you have, the more in demand you become (that’s why the best time to start is now).

5. A Trailblazing Community

The Salesforce community is a force to be reckoned with (no pun intended) and is legendary for its supportiveness. Salesforce has one of the best communities in the tech ecosystem with many online support forums (you can breathe now, fellow introverts) and physical meet-ups. No matter your skill level or experience, there are always resources available and people ready to help you max out your potential. Plus, if you learn with us, you have access to the Ydev community too. Who doesn’t love a 2-in-1?
